Not everything on the Internet does what it should
Let us show you the way to internet heaven, We're here to help guide you through the intricate process of making the internet work the way it should, simply and efficiently.
Gytrash is where you record bad websites on the Internet …
Let us know about a web site that doesn’t work. For example a web page with a link that just shows an error message. Maybe it’s a contact form that doesn’t work? Drop a screen shot of the page the web page and the error message, remembering to hide any personal details. We’ll follow up with the company concerned and see if we can get them to fix it.
Did they link your details to the wrong account? Do they not have the correct contact details for you? Give us a web site URL (e.g. www.gytrash.org ) and we’ll let them know they’re getting bad reviews because of their innaccurate data gathering and see if we can get them to change.
Has a Garage asked for your inside leg measurement? Has a super market asked for your annual income? Manny companies want to sell on customer data, often for no benefit to you, the customer. Should this be allowed? Often it’s not allowed. Under the data protections act in the UK, and under GDPR regulations in the European Union and UK.
Who
we are
A Gytrash /ɡaɪˈtræʃ/ is a legendary animal, appearing in the form of a horse.
The Gytrash haunt solitary ways and lead people astray, but they can also be benevolent, guiding lost travelers to the right road. To avoid an unpleasant journey,
Our not-for-profit site allows the visitor to highlight errors, mistake and bad processes on organisations websites. Did a link not work, a page errored or did your energy company ask for your medical history?
In today’s business world companies aren’t great at listening to your complaints about their websites or processes. So, we aim to highlight, the errors and name and shame poorly performing companies who don’t listen to their customers.
We will also endeavour to engage the companies and point out the issues that are reported here and engage the media to highlight the shortcomings of companies who generally only resolve issues if they’re contacted by the media.
